Mechanical Engineer
Location: McLeansville, NC
Pay Rate: Up to $49.00/hour
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field
- 2+ years of job-related experience, OR Master’s degree with 6 months of related experience
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Position OverviewAs a Mechanical Analysis Engineer supporting Undersea Mission Systems, you will work within a cross‑functional engineering team responsible for the design and analysis of critical undersea hardware. This role supports research‑driven development and mission‑critical mechanical system performance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform mechanical design and structural analysis of undersea hardware systems
- Support cross‑functional engineering teams throughout the design and development lifecycle
- Conduct modeling and simulation analysis to validate hardware performance
- Support prototype development, testing, and fabrication efforts
- Ensure compliance with technical, government, and industry standards
- Experience with ANSYS and MATLAB analysis tools (ability to train others preferred)
- Experience with Shock Grade B analysis
- Strong knowledge of material specifications and metallurgy
- Proficiency with CAD modeling tools for mechanical models and drawings
- Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods
- Experience working within technical and government standards environments
- Ability to lead mechanical design, testing, and prototype fabrication efforts
- Creative problem‑solving skills

This position offers Hybrid/Flex scheduling as desired. While on‑site, you will work from the McLeansville, NC facility (Greater Greensboro area).
