Controls Engineer

Day to day roles and responsibilities:

• The candidate will be modifying existing programs in Control Logix processors. Additional design and programming of new processors will also be required after all changes to current code have been made.
• The candidate will be incorporating RFID into the production line and will modify/replace existing RFID products as required.
• The candidate will create the required entries in the new MES system to allow communication with the line controllers.

• Lead problem solving and improvement activity
• Manage/lead planning and implementation of capital and major projects
• Understand and support the key Safety
• Participate in the development and maintenance of process documentation
• Work cross-functionally with team members, trades, peers, etc.

Skills/Experience/

Education:

• Four (4) year engineering degree or equivalent experience required BSEE, or BSCS preferred
• 5-7 years’ experience required (10 to 15 years’ experience required for non college degreed candidates, no conversion offered)
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Project management experience
• Industrial controls systems experience

Skills:

• Use of common approaches to problem solving (Six Sigma, 7-step, FMEA, FTA, etc.)
• Knowledge of quality procedures and systems (training required once hired)
• Understanding of statistical process control, process capability, and data analysis
• Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
• Understanding of IMS (Preferred)
• Software experience with the following products: RSSQL, RSLogix5, RSLogix
  500, RSLogix
  5000, RSView

• Overall understanding of HMI applications and Controls System architecture interacts with IT systems
