The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading all engineering and design functions. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position plays a critical role in managing engineering operations, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in product design and development.
This is a hands-on leadership position, requiring active engagement with the company’s products, processes, and people to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business. The Engineering Manager will provide both technical direction and managerial oversight to a team of engineers and drafters while collaborating with Sales, Operations, and Compliance departments to deliver high-quality, customized storage solutions.

- Provide leadership and strategic direction for all engineering activities to ensure safe, code-compliant, and cost-effective designs.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, designers, and technical staff to maintain high performance and professional growth.
- Serve as a technical authority in the design of chemical storage buildings, including structural, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
- Work directly with the General Manager and cross-functional teams to support company goals, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Drive standardization, process improvement, and best practices within the engineering function.
- Collaborate with Sales and Estimating teams to evaluate project feasibility, provide technical input, and ensure alignment with manufacturing capabilities.
- Support research and development initiatives for new or improved product designs, materials, and systems.
- Ensure that engineering practices comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in and support audits, inspections, and quality control measures as necessary.
- Actively learn and engage in all aspects of the business, including manufacturing, quality control, and customer support.
To ensure your success from day one in this role, we require the following qualifications at a minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Experience in custom metal fabrication, modular buildings, or industrial storage structures preferred. Electrical and HVAC knowledge and experience is a Plus.
- Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
