AboutThe Role
The Environmental Engineer at Global Cellulose Fiber’s (GCF) Riegelwood Mill will be accountable for being familiar with environmental management principles, to ensure he/she is able to manage projects and day‑to‑day air compliance assurance with mill personnel. As a member of the mill’s team of environmental professionals, this individual will be called on to cover various aspects of environmental management and coordinate with other departments to ensure environmental efficiency for the mill as it relates to Waste, Landfill, SPCC, Chemical Approval, and assist with reporting, testing, sampling of Wastewater and Air.
- Develop schedules and provide documentation to demonstrate compliance with company and agency requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state environmental regulations, including Title V, MACT, NSPS and PSD.
- Manage environmental compliance program at the Riegelwood Mill, including CEMR and Proficy database updates, SharePoint updates, records management, and event documentation/management.
- Prepare air emissions inventories;
Title V quarterly/semiannual reports;
Title V annual compliance certifications (TVACCs); MACT quarterly/semiannual reports; greenhouse gas annual reports, corporate sustainability reports, toxic release inventories (TRI); CERCLA continuous release reports, permit renewal applications, and other regulatory and corporate submittals. - Manage Title V and MACT source testing events and CEMS/COMS operations and maintenance.
- Serve as primary contact with environmental regulatory agencies on environmental issues; negotiate permit terms with regulators.
- Develop and conduct training, as needed, on specific environmental topics.
- Effectively and proactively manage environmental financial aspects, including but not limited to: training, stack testing, consulting activities, etc.
- Assist other Riegelwood environmental team members, as needed, with maintaining compliance in other environmental management areas (wastewater, solid/hazardous waste, landfill and laboratory oversight, storm water, SPCC, etc.).
- Review and update environmental manuals and plans at least annually.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- BS in Engineering or appropriate technical discipline required.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office as well as familiarity with or capability to quickly learn the use of other computer applications.
