Overview

We are seeking a Coordinator I - Online Retention to support retention initiatives and student success in the online study environment.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education, communication, psychology, student affairs or a closely related field. Two (2) years of related work experience in a college setting.

Working Hours

Will vary between 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Occasional evening and weekends are required. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the program including evenings, weekends, and other DSC sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review student records for retention issues; follow up on progress through personal contact and correspondence.
  • Work collaboratively with the Division of Online Studies to promote online student success through improved processes and student outreach campaigns.
  • Document and track student issues using electronic files; prepare periodic reports.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Ability to utilize data and information to make decisions and projections.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn student information systems such as People Soft and Salesforce.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training presentations and programs.
  • Ability to assess program needs and conceptualize new programs.
  • Ability to develop short and long term strategic plans.
  • Knowledge of FERPA regulations for handling student records.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strategic relations with colleagues, coworkers, constituents, and volunteers.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure.
  • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations when numerous demands are involved.
  • Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn new applications and systems.
