Position SummaryThe Assistant Director of University Scholarships works on‑site in Cullowhee, NC, and serves as the primary liaison for scholarship administration and financial aid counseling. Responsibilities include counseling prospective and current students/families on scholarships and aid, participating in outreach to encourage timely application completion, managing scholarship programs with academic departments, and assisting with the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid such as FAFSA.
Responsibilities- Provide counseling to students and families on financial aid and scholarship options.
- Conduct outreach activities, presentations, and open houses to promote timely completion of aid applications.
- Serve as liaison for scholarship selection and candidate review with academic colleges.
- Administer and process state and external scholarship programs.
- Assist with the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid, including verification and awarding.
Minimum Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university.
- Master’s degree and prior experience in higher education scholarship or financial aid.
- Experience with automated financial aid systems such as Banner.
- Highly organized, multitasking ability, and strong customer service background with excellent oral and written communication skills.
