Adjunct-Political Science and Public Affairs

Western Carolina University is always looking for qualified part‑time (adjunct) faculty to enhance its academic programs. Minimum qualifications for teaching in the academic programs are a doctor’s or master’s degree in the teaching discipline, or a master’s degree with a concentration in the discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours). A terminal degree is preferred. These appointments are on a course‑by‑course basis.

Salary is commensurate with education, experience and discipline.

Working title:

Adjunct‑Political Science and Public Affairs.

Position Summary

Teaching duties include delivering undergraduate or graduate courses, developing syllabi, grading, and engaging students in public engagement activities. The University embraces a community‑engaged mission, and preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate commitment to public engagement through teaching, service, and scholarship.
