• Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in subject area.
• North Carolina teaching license.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

• Planning the Program – Cooperate in the development of annual objectives and plan an instructional program that incorporates these objectives.
• Overseeing the Program – Incorporate learner objectives compatible with the subject, grade level and curriculum, and assess the effectiveness of the instructional program.
• Updating the Program – Maintain an effective program by keeping current knowledge of subject areas and child growth and development.
• Managing Daily Instruction – Ensure instruction, materials and procedures are appropriate; encourage students, parents and others to be actively involved in daily instructional activities.
• Differentiating Instruction – Assess individual student abilities to devise techniques that accommodate student differences in learning rate, styles and ability levels.
• Individualized Instruction – Monitor individual student achievement continuously, employ a variety of teaching methods, and provide remediation as required.
• Supervising – Use professional classroom‑management techniques to maintain a suitable instructional environment.
• Human Resources – Use community resources, student talent, volunteers and other school personnel to enhance the instructional program.
• Human Relations – Show respect for the dignity and worth of all students, value cultural differences, and maintain communication with parents.
• Non‑instructional Duties – Accept responsibility for non‑instructional duties as assigned by the principal, superintendent, school board or other administrative personnel.
• Promoting School Safety – Conduct oneself in a manner that promotes a safe, secure and orderly environment.
• Reporting Acts of Violence – Report acts of violence to the principal.
• Reporting of Students Suspended or Expelled – Report to the principal students who are suspended or expelled in accordance with state board policies.
• Evaluation Instrument – Meet the standards and elements of the new teacher evaluation instrument.

Work requires light physical effort, with occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds of force and frequent to read, comprehend, speak, write, apply logical thinking, communicate effectively, operate various machines, drive a vehicle, use office and audiovisual equipment, and adapt to emergency situations.
