Adjunct Social Work Faculty

The Department of Social Work at Western Carolina University is looking for qualified part‑time (adjunct) faculty to teach selected courses or supervise students in social work field placements. These appointments are on a course‑by‑course basis. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

This posting is continuous to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates. If your academic area of interest/expertise meets the programmatic needs of the WCU Social Work Department, you may be contacted to discuss proposed teaching opportunities. These needs change from semester to semester.

• Teach selected courses in the Social Work program.
• Supervise social work students in field placements.
• Meet semester‑specific programmatic needs as requested.

• Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work with some practice experience.
• For teaching in the substance abuse certificate program, must be certified as a substance abuse counselor (CSAC) or hold licensure as a clinical addictions specialist (LCAS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Master of Social Work with teaching experience.
