Primary Purpose of Position:
The Department of Social Work has both BSW and MSW programs. Programs include advanced standing, part-time and night/evening, on-campus and online. The successful candidate will be required to teach 6-8 courses per academic year (courses may include field seminar and field supervision); develop curricula; provide academic advisement to current and prospective students; maintain an active program in scholarship in area of expertise;
seek and participate in extramural funding; serve on university, college, and department committees; and provide service to communities/agencies within the region.
- Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE accredited institution required.
- Doctoral degree in social work or closely related field preferred.
- ABD candidates scheduled to complete doctoral studies by end of year one of employment considered.
- Three years of full-time post-MSW work experience required.
- Minimum one year of higher‑education teaching experience required.
- Licensure as NC‑LCAS preferred.
- Teach 6-8 courses per academic year (including field seminars and supervision).
- Develop curricula and instructional materials.
- Provide academic advisement to current and prospective students.
- Maintain an active scholarship program in area of expertise.
- Seek and participate in extramural funding.
- Serve on university, college, and department committees.
- Provide service to communities and agencies within the region.
