General Description
The Automotive Technology Program Coordinator, under the supervision of the Dean of Engineering and Trades and the authority of the Vice President for Instruction, is responsible for developing, implementing, instructing, coordinating, and evaluating the Automotive Technology Program that will result in students achieving academic success.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Understanding of and commitment to the unique nature and role of the institution, with reference to the mission and the open-door policy. The ability to problem solve and work directly with a diverse population of learners. Effective written and public speaking skills are required. Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively in education/training environments and be accountable for assignments.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and work effectively with people from all socio‑economic and education levels and ethnic groups.
Minimum
Education and Experience:
Minimum five years' work in Automotive related field such as dealership technician or community/technical college instructor required. An associate’s degree in Automotive Systems Technology or related field from a regionally accredited university or college preferred. ASE Master Certification with L4 required or ability to obtain these certifications within a year. Current NC Driver’s license required.
Salary Level: Salary Level (Sector Trades and Transportation (AUT)-formerly Tier 1B)
