We are seeking a Board-Certified Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in North Carolina, near Shannon. This is a short-term assignment with excellent support, offering a chance to work in a dynamic inpatient setting.

  December 16, 2024, to December 18, 2024
• Coverage Type:
  Call only (backup call, second line)
• Shifts:
  Call coverage ends at 7:00 AM on December 18, 2024
• Practice Setting:
  Inpatient; no outpatient duties required
• Rounding:
  Assigned patients
• Patient Care:
  Includes admissions; temporary privileges are available

• Board Certification:
  Required in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Certifications Needed:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
• Licensing:
  Active North Carolina medical license required

• Average deliveries per year: 350
• Inpatient department includes six beds
• Trauma Level: 0 Pediatric Level: 2

• Obstetrics:
  • Routine deliveries, vaginal deliveries, low-forceps, and decision-making for C-sections
  • Management of both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies
  • Fetal heart rate interpretation, OB ultrasounds, and VBACs
  • Complicated deliveries including breech, multiple births, and abruptions
• Gynecology:
  • Surgical procedures including laparoscopic diagnostics, tubal ligations, and ovary removal
  • Office procedures such as IUD placements, colposcopies, and cryosurgery

• RN: 2
• Midwife:
  Takes first call
• PA/NP: 1

• Call Response Time: 25 minutes
• Facility uses Cerner EMR system
• Credentialing process:
  Quick turnaround (approximately 2 days)
