Job Summary

The Dental Hygienist provides prophylactic care and preventative treatment to dental patients of Greene County Health Care, Inc.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Provides prophylactic care and preventive care, including topical fluoride and application of occlusal sealants.
  • Exposes and develops radiographs.
  • Provides oral hygiene education to patients on an individual basis and in groups when feasible and appropriate.
  • Ensures hazardous chemicals are labeled and proper Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are on file.
  • Develops educational programs with the Dental Director.
  • Participates in continuing education on and off site as feasible and appropriate.
  • Assists chair-side in delivery of dental treatment when other staff are out or when heavy patient load exists, including cleaning and readying dental operatories.
  • Takes alginate impressions, pours, and trims study models.
    • Qualifications And Skills
  • Graduate of a dental hygienist training program.
  • Certified Hygienist with current Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners.
  • Knowledge of North Carolina’s requirements for dental hygienists.
  • Knowledge of safety and infection control standards applicable to a dental setting.
