Location: Weldon

Provide didactic, clinical and radiography laboratory instruction to dental hygiene students and assist in administration of the operation of the HCC Dental Hygiene Program
. Not to exceed 25 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of American Dental Association accreditation process
  • Knowledge of the current blood borne pathogen standard requirements regarding infection control and Haz Com standards
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
  • Be innovative, creative, motivated
  • Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others
  • Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
  • Good organizational skills
  • Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including computers, and web-based resources such as Black Board
  • Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
  • Minimum of two calendar years experience in the clinical practice of dental hygiene; currently licensed to practice in North Carolina; eligible to obtain a provisional license in practice dental hygiene in North Carolina as a faculty member.
  • Associates or higher degree; teaching experience in dental hygiene and course development preferred.
