This part-time opportunity is ideal for community members who seek direct experience contributing to the ongoing training of Public Safety professionals at the Southwestern Community College - Public Safety Training Center campus in Franklin, North Carolina. Your pay will be based on your skills and experience; the current daily range is $65.00 to $130.00.

• Participate in and present scripted roles during training scenarios requiring simulated Public Safety presence/response within Federal, State academy sessions, or advanced/specialized course offerings.
• Follow scenario guidance and instructions to allow testing and evaluation of students against established safety/performance objectives in various situations within your assigned topical area.
• Work under the direction of a certified PSTC Instructor/Evaluator.

• Be at least eighteen (18) years old (twenty-one (21) years old for assignment to the Law Enforcement - Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) Laboratory).
• Successfully pass a criminal background/reference check.
• Possess a valid Driver's License (preferred for scenarios involving motor vehicle operation).
• Be dependable, punctual, and willing to present and fully participate within assigned and scripted roles, with props, during scheduled contracted hours under supervision.
• Be capable of moving/lifting approximately fifty (50) pounds if required within a scenario.
• Be capable of assuming a standing, kneeling, or prone position during law enforcement training scenarios involving simulated apprehension/arrest, including application of handcuffs.
• Flexible part‑time hours; contract generally for eight (08) or four (04) hour training evolutions based on availability, with potential consecutive days.

Southwestern Community College - Division of Public Safety Training Center contracts individuals for the service of Part‑Time Civilian Public Safety Role Players (RP). Contractors must be able to complete full‑day (08 hours) or half‑day (04 hours) assignments, as scheduled and contracted. Compensation for full‑day training is $130, and half‑day training is $65.
