Job SummaryThe Dental Hygienist provides prophylactic care and preventative treatment to dental patients of Greene County Health Care, Inc.
Responsibilities and Duties- Provides prophylactic care and preventive care, including topical fluoride and application of occlusal sealants.
- Exposes and develops radiographs.
- Provides oral hygiene education to patients on an individual basis and in groups when feasible and appropriate.
- Assures hazardous chemicals are labeled and proper Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are on file.
- Develops educational programs with the Dental Director.
- Participates in continuing education on and off site as feasible and appropriate.
- Assists chair-side in delivery of dental treatment when other staff are out or when heavy patient load exists to include cleaning and readying dental operatories.
- Takes alginate impressions, pours and trim study models.
- Graduate of a dental hygienist training program.
- Certified Hygienist with current Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners.
- Knowledge of the state of North Carolina’s requirements for dental hygienists.
- Knowledge of safety and infection control standards applicable to a dental setting.
