Position Summary

The Project Manager will primarily report to the Vice President of Construction Operations and be accountable to Executive Management. Responsibilities include seeking and initiating project opportunities, working independently with minimal oversight, and managing projects ranging from $200,000 to $10,000,000. The role requires site visits, project meetings, ongoing monitoring, and final inspection walk‑throughs.

Essential Functions
  • Manage construction projects from solicitation through closeout.
  • Handle bidding, award, planning, execution, and close‑out of design‑build or construction contracts.
  • Maintain safety standards and documentation compliance.
  • Create and manage project budgets.
  • Develop and collaborate on pre‑construction RFP packages.
  • Conduct project meetings, set milestones, and formulate monthly owner reports.
  • Approve pay applications, negotiate subcontract change orders, and establish job processes (RFIs, submittals, pay applications).
  • Perform project scheduling and quality control.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and other requirements.
  • Provide monthly job cost analysis, schedule updates, and schedule of values.
  • Supervise support roles (assistant project manager, administrative assistant, superintendent, construction team members).
  • Manage multiple contracts and projects concurrently.
Position Qualifications
  • Managed an $10M construction project.
  • Design‑Build project experience is a plus.
  • Wide variety of project experience across all divisions.
  • Understanding of estimating, cost accounting, and labor costs in construction.
  • Mastery of reading construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
  • Ability to organize resources (people, tools, time) to meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of current market conditions and pricing conventions.
  • High precision on detailed work and strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong accountability and reputation for prompt follow‑up.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and safety law.
  • Leadership ability and decision‑making facilitation.
  • Positive attitude, passion for construction, and strong communication skills.
  • Initiative, responsibility, and integrity aligned with the Company’s values.
  • Customer service orientation and ability to coach, train, and educate team members.
Required Experience and Education
  • Four‑year degree in construction, engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–10 years in a construction management environment with 5 years specializing in federal construction.
  • Project management experience in planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Experience executing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, GSA, DoD, and Interior Department is a plus.
Computer Skills
  • Microsoft Project / Primavera, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Adobe.
  • Bluebeam.
Certificates & Licenses
  • USACE CQM Certification.
  • OSHA 30‑Hour Certification.
Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, sit, handle, reach, climb, crawl, squat or kneel (frequently).
  • Lift 10–100 lbs (frequently). Over 100 lbs (frequently).
  • Push/pull 12–41 lbs (frequently) and up to 26–40 lbs (occasionally) as required.
