Overview

American Civil Constructors is currently hiring for a full‑time Project Engineer to work out of our McLeansville, NC office. This position requires working on project sites as needed. Travel to projects both local and nationwide is required. Must be capable of up to 50% travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation, and be able to lodge in public facilities.

Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided. When overnight travel is required, meals and lodging will also be provided.

We are qualified to bid and perform work for state DOTs and city & county public works agencies all over the United States. We specialize in retrofitting and repairing bridges and performing specialized pavement overlays throughout the country. We are growing our business and searching for knowledgeable, dedicated individuals that will complement our team.

Responsibilities
  • Scheduling;
    Tracking production and inventory
  • Handling subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Coordinating and supervising varying work schedules (day/night) and crew mobilizations from job to job
  • Working closely with project owners, prime contractors, inspectors, field engineers, field superintendents and subcontractors/suppliers as needed to successfully complete our construction projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Management. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 2+ years working in project management for a heavy civil construction company, preferably involving bridge and/or pavement overlay related work.
  • Good organizational and time‑management skills; employee managerial experience; excellent computer skills including strong Microsoft Excel skills; willingness to learn; ability to work as a team; great communication skills (both verbal and written); enthusiasm and ability to multi‑task and coordinate projects without direct supervision.
  • Primavera P6 experience is highly desired, but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
