Job DescriptionWe are currently accepting resumes for future project work. Qualified candidates will be contacted once next steps have been identified. This evergreen position is not open at this time but is intended to build a pool of qualified candidates.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform complex and routine inspections to evaluate whether appropriate materials and construction processes are used and if construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions.
- Use higher‑grade equipment and perform complex calculations during construction inspection.
- Work under limited supervision or direct supervision depending on demonstrated knowledge for the assignment.
- Review drawings to prepare for construction inspection.
- Understand the design of the construction to be inspected and document and communicate the results to the supervisor.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
- Basic knowledge of arithmetic.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new computer, smartphone, or related applications.
- Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings, contract provisions, and specifications.
High school diploma or equivalent. Certifications from a State Highway Agency or National Entity such as ACI or NICET in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete (if required by the client or jurisdiction) are preferred. A valid driver’s license is required. Six months of domestic and/or international travel may be required. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
