General Statement of DutiesFranklin County is seeking an experienced and highly organized Administrative Secretary III to provide advanced administrative and clerical support to the Health Department. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient daily operations by managing complex schedules, preparing detailed reports, maintaining accurate records, and serving as a reliable point of contact for staff, partners, and the public. We are looking for a detail‑oriented professional with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while supporting the department’s mission to promote and protect the health of our community.
CompensationEstimated Hiring Salary Range: $41,007–$43,057

- Provide advanced administrative and clerical support to the Health Department.
- Manage complex schedules, coordinate meetings and activities, and serve as a reliable point of contact for staff, partners, and the public.
- Prepare detailed reports, memoranda, and correspondence requiring independent research.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
- Monitor staff activities related to commitments made by the supervisor and ensure compliance with budget reporting.
- Interpret and adapt procedural guidelines to specific tasks and resolve non‑routine issues.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners, vendors, and the general public.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and support the department’s mission to promote community health.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or college degree in business administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience as described.
- Knowledge of office practices, techniques, and technology.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to interpret program policies, rules, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders.
