Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Job Description
Warehouse workers perform an array of functions that might include accepting and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. Warehouses are fast‑paced and work around pickups from LTL and truck‑load carriers, as well as customer pickups. In addition to pickups, product deliveries from suppliers and vendors must be received, inventoried, and placed in proper storage locations.
Workers are required to lift from 45 pounds to a maximum of 75 pounds regularly, walk or stand for most of the shift, and wear protective gear and steel‑toed shoes. Warehouse workers operate forklifts, staplers, phones, faxes, and computers, including Microsoft applications.
- Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines
- Receive, ship, store, and transfer material for use in manufacturing
- Perform the related transactions for the stocking of material
- Break down, clean, organize, and prep for manufacturing in accordance with procedure and production requirements
- Assist with a broad range of warehouse tasks, utilizing forklifts, pallet movers, drum dollies, and carts. Transport materials to and from production areas
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and operators with various material handling duties
- Repackage materials, change and clean equipment, empty drums, rinse drums
- Coordinate, communicate, and signal replenishment of material from various stock locations to production
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Entry level to 1 year of inventory, warehouse, and receiving experience
- Materials handling experience
- Ability to work in a self‑directed environment
- Communication skills necessary to coordinate activities among various parties, including internal and external customers and vendors
- Able to pass drug and background check
