DescriptionThe Solution Administrator's role is to ensure that the performance obligations of computing systems within catalog are met. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of systems management, maintenance, and performance. The Solution Administrator I is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on their findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve malfunctions and make the appropriate recommendations in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Responsibilities- Support project managers, Solution Analysts, and users to define systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
- Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems and solutions in order to define outcome criteria and measure‑taking actions.
- Develop and document research, data retrieval, and data analysis methodologies for use by other personnel.
- Develop strategies for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems or for further leveraging these systems.
- Perform Gap Analysis of as is vs to be and determine differences and recommendations.
- Assist database administrators, system administrators in the deployment and performance analysis of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
- Conduct research of software/hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Coordinate and perform in‑depth tests, including end‑user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Analyze day‑to‑day functions and processes of software (SaaS) and database resources to ensure they are performing within predetermined guidelines, limits, and specifications.
- Identify and help resolve system issues within catalog in order to maintain services, enhance capabilities, and prevent system outages.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in systems within catalog across the organization.
- Creation of materials and training of new technologies and enhancements to End User.
- Administration of systems within catalog.
- Ability to run small initiatives with minimal assistance.
- Forward/reverse logistics of hardware solutions within catalog.
- Support vendor relationships.
- Service the organization as a whole.
- After hours support (team rotation).
- 4 year College or University degree required or at least 4 years’ experience in industry or similar field in lieu of degree.
- Degree in the field of computer science, management information systems, supply chain, business management preferred.
- Experience in the operation and analysis of software systems and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies.
- Extensive experience with core software applications.
- Working technical knowledge of SQL (preferred).
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and mathematical skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Prior transportation experience (preferred).
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
- Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
- Ability to communicate ideas to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Logical and efficient.
- Highly self‑motivated and directed.
- Keen attention to detail.

- Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel for projects as required (0 – 15%).
