Manufacturing Engineer
REPORTS TO:
Director of Robin Development Center
PURPOSE:Support functions of Quoting Engineer and Program Manager. Provide ongoing support for both roles while also acting as backup for both roles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Support Quoting Engineer by:
- Process RFQs from sales team, including assigning to appropriate Robin facilities for generation of cost estimates
- For products which Robin Industries generates the product design, facilitate the sharing of part design from RDC to the quoting manufacturing division
- Assist in obtaining answers to questions generated by Robin facilities during generation of cost estimates
- Upon receipt of cost estimate from Robin facility, generate analysis for review for pricing by sales function
- Once pricing has been established, generate the quotation for the customer using established guidelines
- Complete piece price breakdowns as required by customers
- Maintain the quotation database
Support Program Manager by:
- Generating Gantt charts for customers to communicate status of new programs, both prototype and production
- Participate in internal planning meetings for coordination of both development and production programs
- Participate in meeting with customers to present status of programs and review action items needed to meet customer needs
- Collaborate with sales team to gather customer needs and develop plans to meet those customer needs
- Work with Robin facilities to ensure all customer expectations are met from development through launch into production
- Participate in APQP meetings to facilitate launch of new products
High School diploma or GED certificate
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or a related field a plus
4-5 years’ experience in customer service and providing cost estimates
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word)
Some project management experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level of organization and attention to detail
Comfort with multi-tasking in a deadline-driven environment
Excellent time management skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to position or move, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
