Stark State College is seeking a qualified instructor to:
- Instruct welding courses at assigned locations.
- Teach welding safety, material preparation, cutting, and joining techniques.
- Instruct students in welding similar and dissimilar metals.
- Teach gas and electrical welding processes, including oxygen/acetylene and AC/DC electric welding.
- Develop and maintain course syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.
- Evaluate and grade student assignments and tests.
- Teach assigned welding courses in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Provide hands-on instruction in welding safety, material preparation, cutting, and joining techniques.
- Instruct students in welding similar and dissimilar metals using gas and electrical processes, including oxygen/acetylene and AC/DC electric welding.
- Prepare, deliver lectures, and demonstrations.
- Develop or follow course syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.
- Evaluate student performance, grade assignments and tests, and submit grades by established deadlines.
- Maintain accurate attendance, safety, and academic records
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, lab procedures, and safety standards.
- Communicate with department leadership and support student learning as needed.
College degree preferred.
Experience/Qualifications Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
Five years' field experience in fabricating and welding required.
Good communication and presentation skills required.
Experience and/or certification with specialty metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium are a plus.
Licensure or Certification Requirements:
A valid CWI and/or AWS 3G and/or 6G certified.

The (STRS), was established to provide a secure retirement for Ohio's public educators. STRS is available to all faculty members. The College contributes 14% of the employee's wages for the retirement benefit and the employee contributes 14% of their wages toward the retirement benefit.
INSTRUCTIONAL FEES
All instructional and general fees for credit, audit, or non-credit courses offered at Stark State College will be paid by the College from the income of the College budgeted for employee benefits up to an amount per academic semester not to exceed such fees for six credit hours per semester.
