- Instructors will help develop and implement a four-day themed STEM course appropriate for middle school students.
- Instructors are responsible for engagement of all students in the class as well as attendance and classroom management.
- Instructors will work with the STEM Summer Program Director and staff to request and order materials, complete necessary paperwork, and attend instructor training, as needed (approximately once/year).
- Instructor duties will include but are not limited to:
- Complete required training, fingerprinting, and background check
- Attend planning meetings
- Help develop experiential STEM themed content
- Deliver agreed upon content in an appropriate fashion.
- Classroom management of approximately 15-20 middle schoolers.
- This includes but is not limited to taking attendance, being responsible for students in your care, ensuring they are picked up by the proper guardian.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Participate in review of the course afterward for improvement for next year.
- Bachelors in a STEM field or a teaching license with a STEM focus.
- Middle school teaching experience preferred.
- Creativity and love of children a must!
- Knowledge of experiential STEM education.
- Ability to develop appropriate activities and implement classes for middle school students required.
