Job Description
Join a dynamic team as a Technical Writer IV (Lead) responsible for developing, editing, and managing clear and accurate documentation to support wildfire risk mitigation strategies. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional partners to translate complex technical concepts into concise policies, procedures, playbooks, training materials, reports, and presentations. You will own the document lifecycle, ensuring consistency and compliance while simplifying technical concepts for various audiences.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with the WRM team and subject matter experts to gather product and process familiarization and specific documentation requirements.
+ Provide input on processes, procedures, materials, and services to support innovation and continuous improvement.
+ Support team efforts for continuous improvement and promote healthy, respectful communications.
+ Adhere to style standards for procedure documentation and work instructions, ensuring a simple, clear, concise, and grammatically correct writing style.
+ Ensure all materials maintain a consistent look and feel with existing documentation.
+ Revise existing documentation based on product changes.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5 years of professional technical writing work experience.
+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to consult with subject matter experts from engineering, support, and management.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.
+ Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+ Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Skills & Qualifications
+
Experience with procedure writing.
+ Background in technical writing for utilities or similar fields is strongly preferred.
+ Experience creating infographics such as diagrams, screenshots, workflows, and graphs.
+ Exposure to wildfire risk mitigation concepts.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, providing flexibility to work remotely and on-site. The role supports a reputable energy and utilities company, offering a 2-year contract. This is a Contract position based out of Bothell, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
