Mapping Data Technician

Overview

Cognizant is a large IT Consulting Firm that leverages modern technologies to transform a variety of modern business operations. People supporting this project work to keep mapping data up to date in real time. The Mapping Data Technician is responsible for completing beginning mapping operations including, base map edits, shape drawing, and other mapping related tasks. The Mapping Data Technician is expected to have a basic understanding of mapping tools and principles, allowing for the execution of routine map edits, data maintenance, and simple analysis of any resulting issues.

Please note that this role is 100% onsite in Bothell, Washington. Only local candidates will be considered.

• Work with mapping imagery and data to make edits with exceptional quality and accuracy.
• Use mapping tools and knowledge to continually improve map accuracy and edits.
• Analyze map data and make decisions based on policy to complete map workflows.
• Input and maintain system metadata and associated information with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Contribute to in-depth failure analysis to determine the root cause of errors, whether from personal edits or those made by others.
• Proactively identify and raise systemic problems with tools or processes.
• Contribute to project bugs, workflows, worksheets, scripts, and dashboards.

• At least a bachelor's degree or relevant mapping experience
• A basic understanding of maps and mapping software
• Familiarity with Google software suite, i.e. Sheets, Docs, Slides

The hourly rate for this position is between $19 – $21 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
