Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Dean of Student Learning, the Full-time Tenure Track Faculty in Earth & Environmental Sciences teach multiple environmental and earth science courses that may explore astronomy; atmospheric processes, Earth
¿ s climate system; ecosystems; environmental science, physical geography; geology; soil science, and water science. Cascadia faculty support active and interactive learning through collaborative activities and inquiry-based approaches that challenge students to think critically, creatively, and reflectively and that foster communication skills with our complex world. Faculty provide leadership and contribute to the implementation and enhancement of Cascadia's curriculum, course of study, and college-wide review of student achievement.

Tenure-track and tenured faculty engage in service to the college and professional development activities. Service activities may include committees and councils, as well as discipline leadership and projects.

Full-time Tenure Track Faculty in Earth & Environmental Science are expected to daily demonstrate the following qualities: a high degree of understanding and empathy for all students, faculty, staff and visitors, as well as the ability to encourage the inclusion of all voices in decision-making, promoting equity in all areas, and actively working against institutionalized norms of oppression against historically marginalized people.

Employee Type:
Full-Time (Academic Year 172 Contract Days)

Initial Salary: $78,718.19 - $97,054.10 (includes 5% King County Premium Pay) County Premium Pay (KCPP)
