Job Overview:
The OS&D (Over, Short, and Damage) Representative plays a crucial role in managing discrepancies related to bills of lading, damaged freight,. This position involves direct communication with vendors to resolve issues, coordination of return to vendor (RTV) processes, and ensuring accurate documentation and processing of freight conditions.
Job Description- Communicate with vendors via email to address discrepancies in bills of lading.
- Notify vendors about damaged freight and coordinate the necessary actions.
- Inform vendors about overages and shortages in shipments.
- Coordinate RTVs with vendors for efficient handling of return processes.
- Monitor the on-dock report to ensure all receipts in “R” status are addressed and cleared.
- Create free astray receipts for unclaimed or misplaced freight on the dock.
- Generate pros for labeling freight and associated transportation charges.
- Request missing delivery receipts from clients or partners like Target.
- Send warehouse damage reports to relevant stakeholders.
Distribute vendor audit reports and load optimization reports to improve operations. - Process damaged trailers and create the necessary bill of lading for freight redirection.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. - Experience:
At least three (3) years of demonstrated experience in clerical activities, preferably within a logistics or transportation environment. - Computer
Skills:
Working knowledge of AS400 and Microsoft Office suite is essential. - Proficiency in using standard office equipment including PC, CRT, and 10-key calculator.
- Organized and self-motivated with a strong capability to work independently.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while performing routine tasks for extended periods.
Physical Demands:
- Extended Sitting:
Primarily desk-based with prolonged computer use. - Light Lifting:
Occasional handling of objects up to 20 pounds. - Computer Use:
Frequent operation of computers and office equipment, requiring manual dexterity. - Eye Strain and Repetitive Motion:
Risk from continuous screen use and repetitive tasks like typing. - Office Navigation:
Light walking and standing for meetings and tasks within the office.
