If so, Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is recruiting for a skilled outdoor professional to serve as a Maintenance Laborer who can thrive in a dynamic workplace, while maintaining and improving our stewardship of the environment that enhances our City, local community, and the region.

The City of Seattle’s Watersheds in North Bend, WA covers over 100,000 acres and is carefully managed to supply clean drinking water to the greater Seattle area.

Maintenance Laborer is an integral part of Watershed Operations, an inclusive, adaptable team responsible for performing a variety of skills in ground maintenance, forest road improvements, and the building and maintenance of watershed facilities. Successful candidates will enjoy working with their hands and a variety of equipment in an outdoor setting in varied climates and terrain in the Cascade Mountains.   • Assist 24/7 in emergency work and emergency response situations as needed.

Experience & Education
  • One (1) year experience performing general laboring/manual work involving construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of public facilities.
Experience and Education Equivalency
  • Combinations of appropriate education, training, certification, and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.
Licenses

Current valid Washington State driver's license.

Certifications

Washington State Forklift Safety and Operation certificate is required within six months of hire. Training and certification will be provided by SPU for selected candidates.
