The Retail Supervisor is the on-shift leader who keeps Ko-Kwel retail spaces running smoothly, confidently, and with care. This role bridges front-line service and management by supervising daily operations, supporting and directing shift leads and Customer Service Representatives, and ensuring each shift delivers a warm, well-organized guest experience. By owning the flow of the floor and making real-time decisions, the Retail Supervisor helps translate expectations into action while supporting the Retail & Inventory Manager's broader goals.
Whatyou bring to the table
- Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
- Providing direct, on-shift supervision of shift leads and Customer Service Representatives to ensure clear direction, coverage, and consistent service standards.
- Assigning daily tasks, coordinating breaks, and managing floor priorities to keep operations running smoothly.
- Supporting opening and closing procedures, cash handling practices, and adherence to operational policies.
- Operating the POS system for sales transactions, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting tobacco related inventory, equipment, and product operations.
- Assist and help oversee monthly stock inventories to ensure accurate counts, reporting, and inventory control.
- Serving as the escalation point for guest concerns, service recovery needs, and operational issues while on duty.
- Coaching team members in the moment on guest service, POS usage, and retail procedures to reinforce confidence and consistency.
- Assisting in the training of newly hired team members.
- Supporting and guiding the shift lead in their peer-training and mentoring role while maintaining supervisory oversight.
- Create purchasing and inventory requisitions as needed.
- Assisting with inventory receiving, stocking, merchandising, and basic inventory counts as assigned.
- Communicating shift updates, staffing needs, performance observations, and operational challenges to the Retail & Inventory Manager.
- Supporting and promoting Tribal artisans and local creators within retail selections.
- Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)

This position requires working weekends, holidays, and evenings based on business needs. You'll spend much of your shift standing and walking, assisting guests, supporting staff, stocking merchandise, and overseeing the retail floor. Regular use of hands for handling merchandise, operating POS systems, and completing basic documentation is required. Occasional lifting, bending, and reaching are part of the job, with the ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Remaining calm, professional, and guest-focused in a fast-paced environment is essential. Please note that the casino environment may expose you to secondhand smoke.

- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two (2) years of retail or hospitality experience, with prior responsibility leading shifts or teams.
- Demonstrated ability to guide, coach, and hold team members accountable in real time.
- Comfort with cash handling, POS systems, and daily retail operations.
- Clear, respectful communication skills and the ability to give direction calmly and effectively.
- Strong organizational habits and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn inventory processes, merchandising standards, and retail systems.
- Bonus points for experience in hospitality retail, liquor and tobacco sales, specialty retail, or casino environments.
- A team-first mindset and pride in representing Ko-Kwel with professionalism and care.
- Comfortable communicating clearly and positively with both guests and teammates.
