Role

Radiology Technologist – Bridge Program to Multi-Modality. This role assists physicians and performs radiological, paramedical, and clerical duties required in the care and assistance of patients. Work under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor and physicians and contribute to the daily operations of the Radiology department.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare room, equipment, contrast media and materials as needed for procedures.
  • Maintain clean and stocked X-Ray procedure room on a daily basis.
  • Warm X-Ray equipment daily and ensure equipment is working properly; notify appropriate personnel if not functioning properly.
  • Prepare patient for X-ray procedure — explain procedure, transfer patient to examination table, position patient correctly, and assist patient at the end of procedure.
  • Sends images to PACS appropriately and verifies all are available for interpretation in a timely manner.
  • Perform general clerical and transportation duties as needed to fulfill the workload of the department.
  • Practice patient care according to ARMC policy.
  • Assist Radiologists during procedures and take films as requested.
  • Coordinate scheduling of exams for the Radiology department; consider age-related factors when obtaining images or performing imaging studies (pediatrics to geriatrics).
  • Accept additional work during periods of low patient activity and assist others within the department as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all data and information regarding patients and the facility 100% of the time.
  • Adhere to radiation safety procedures when working with radiation-producing equipment 100% of the time.
  • Know and maintain the measurements described in the Universal Protocol policy.
  • Ensure patient charges are entered into the EHR accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist the physician in responding to and managing emergency situations.
  • Operate portable X-Ray and C-Arm machines for imaging in inpatient and operating room settings.
  • Attend all monthly staff meetings unless absent or excused by Radiology Supervisor.
  • Obtain and correctly document verbal and telephone orders per facility policy (only applies to ARRT licensed staff).
  • Rotate to other imaging departments as needed; participate in holiday and on-call rotation requirements.
