Radiology Technologist – Bridge Program to Multi-Modality
$15,000 Sign On Bonus
Location:
Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Aiken, South Carolina – 273‑bed acute care facility.
Radiology Technologist assists physicians and performs radiological, paramedical, and clerical duties required in the care and assistance of patients. Works under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor and physicians. Is primarily responsible for helping with the daily operations of the Radiology department.
Duties- Prepares room, equipment, contrast media and materials as needed for procedures.
- Maintains clean and stocked X‑Ray procedure room on a daily basis.
- Warms X‑Ray equipment daily and ensures it is working properly.
- Notifies personnel if equipment is not functioning properly.
- Prepares patient for X‑ray procedure – explains procedure, transfers patient to examination table, positions patient correctly, and assists patient at end of procedure.
- Sends images PACS appropriately and verifies all are available for interpretation in a timely manner.
- Performs general clerical and transportation duties when needed to fulfill the workload of the department.
- Practices patient care according to ARMC policy.
- Assists radiologists during procedures and takes films as requested.
- Knowledgeable in proper sequence of scheduling exams for the radiology department.
- Considers age‑related factors in obtaining images or performing diagnostic or therapeutic imaging studies for patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Accepts additional work during low patient activity periods and assists others within the department as requested.
- Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all data, records, and reports.
- Implements radiation safety procedures when working with radiation‑producing equipment.
- Ensures patient charges are entered into the EHR promptly and accurately.
- Assists physician in responding to and managing all emergency situations.
- Operates portable X‑ray and C‑Arm machines in inpatient and operating room settings.
- Attends all monthly staff meetings unless excused.
- Obtains verbal and telephone orders per facility policy (only applicable to ARRT‑licensed staff).
- Rotates to other imaging departments as needed and participates in holiday and on‑call rotation requirements.
- Education:
Completion of a radiology program or equivalent military training. - Work experience:
BLS certification (or obtained within 90 days of employment). - Licenses/Certifications:
Current ARRT and South Carolina license or temporary B license issued by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association. - Skills & Knowledge:
Current radiology technologist registration or eligibility with successful completion within 90 days.
