Scope of the Position
Watts is looking for a growth-oriented Product Certifications Engineer to join the Product Compliance Team. This person will perform a wide range of compliance-related duties with varying complexity including supporting Team programs and processes. Communicate with and provide technical and administrative support services to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Work with the Team to carry out business system documentation updates, agency certification submittals and change documentation, indirect sourcing support and departmental financial tracking.
This hybrid position reports to the Product Certifications Manager and is based in North Andover, MA.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams on certification pathways, test requirements, and regulatory risks.
- Communicate with agencies, contractors and/or customers on regulatory/certification engineering and compliance-related matters.
- Ensure compliance activities align with applicable laws, engineering codes, internal policies, and safety requirements.
- Support product design and change management by reviewing engineering changes for certification impact and ensuring continued compliance with applicable standards.
- Interpret, apply, and document engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NSF, ASSE, CSA, UL, FM) to support product compliance and certification.
- Prepare, review, and submit product compliance plans to certifying agencies.
- Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, quality, and manufacturing teams to track compliance-related project costs, process invoices, and support certification budgets.
- Coordinate and support third-party testing, audits, and inspections, including sample selection, technical documentation review, and engineering responses to findings.
- Maintain and manage technical certification databases, including annual renewals, test data, audit reports, letters of conformity, and engineering change documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Product Compliance Team
- Requires less than 10% travel
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Engineering, Product Certification, Product Management
- Background knowledge of certifiers including, NSF, ASSE, CSA, UL, FM.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly self-motivated and self-sufficient
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to collaborate well in a team and cross-functional environment
- Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
- Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions
While performing the job duties, you will be working in an office environment. You will be required to work in the office at the North Andover, MA location three days per week (Monday - Wednesday) and can work remotely two days per week (Thursday and Friday).
