Primary responsibilities include the preparations and execution of all necessary entries into the general ledger accounting system in order to maintain the general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Additional responsibilities include processing and recording data into the general ledger of income and expenses in order to ensure accurate period costing. This position is responsible for maintaining employee cost distributions for the agency's internal accounting system.
This position also maintains in conjunction with the Fiscal Officer II all relevant consumer cost share documentation. The Accounting Tech III position will also have the responsibility of maintaining the unit's policy and procedures manuals.
* Maintain all employee cost distribution.
* Maintain Operating expense distributions.
* Maintain consumer Cost Share files.
* Post to internal accounting system payroll, fringe benefits, indirect costs and operating expenses on a monthly basis.
* Post to internal accounting system and state database all transactions relating to Cost Sharing.
* Prepare and post all relevant journal entries to allocate revenue to appropriate cost centers
* Prepare and record daily cash receipts for submission to the Treasurer's Office.
* Maintain the agency policy and procedures manual.
* This position requires the following clearances as a condition of employment:
Child Abuse History Clearance, PA Criminal Record History, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
* Onsite in-person attendance is required as directed by Supervisor or Administrator.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in accounting or related business field or 1 years' experience OR
Associates degree and 2 years' experience in next lower-level OR Grant Accounting Experience Preferred OR 2 years of experience in Grant Accounting, OR 3 years as an Accounting Tech II.
