Aquatics Manager Assistant

Overview

Blue Gems Swim School — 7510 W Irving Park Rd, Norridge, IL 60706. Blue Gems Swim School is Chicagoland's premier boutique family-owned swimming school focusing on infant, children, and adult learn-to-swim lessons as well as a variety of progressive aquatic development programs.

• Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience
• Passion for working with children and helping them succeed
• Ability to multi-task and organize multiple employees and shifts
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
• Lifeguard and/or Lifeguard Instructor certifications are required (within the first 90 days of hire - can be provided in-house)

• Manage the daily operations of school for assigned shifts
• Manage the swim instructors and lifeguards to ensure a positive team environment and excellent performance
• Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and prepare pool deck area for the shift
• Coordinate staff substitutions for classes when needed
• Act as a substitute swim instructor when necessary
• Provide swim instructions based on the Blue Gems Swim School curriculum
• Assess and Manage student skill tracking to ensure proper reporting and progress
• Submit Daily Reports after each shift
• Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents during shift
• Effectively communicate progress and feedback to students and their parents or guardians, ensure customer satisfaction
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary
• Assist with closing and securing the facility
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
