Veterinarian position at Vetco Total Care Full Service Veterinary Hospitals. Hospital veterinarians perform quality patient care, surgical and dental procedures, and lead clinical teams. They are supported by quality equipment, experienced staff, and opportunities for skill development.
Essential Job Functions- Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care.
- Utilize a problem‑based approach: develop problem lists, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and treatment plans with interpretation of diagnostic results.
- Document all patient observations, exam findings, diagnostics, treatments, medications, client interactions, and diagnoses in the medical record.
- Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.
- Perform routine and complex dental procedures including full dental examination, evaluation of dental radiographs, and simple and complex extractions and oral surgical procedures.
- Develop treatment plans for day‑hospitalization patients, transition patients to overnight care, and communicate effectively with referral hospitals.
- Participate in rounds as incoming or outgoing doctor at shift start and end.
- Disseminate knowledge throughout staff to improve care and communication.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary school.
- Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located.
- Current DEA license and Controlled Substance license if applicable.
- USDA Category I accreditation or completion within two months of hire.
- Comfortable performing anesthesia, routine surgeries (spays, neuters, mass removals, dentals).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional attitude during stressful situations.
- Telephone and computer proficiency.
- Team player willing to learn new techniques and accept change.
Job duties are conducted in the Vetco Total Care veterinary full‑service hospital. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing for long periods of time. Direct contact with clients and their pets is frequent.
Salary Range$83,700.00 – $ (state‑specific regulations may apply)
