Job Description

The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, Football, supports the Director of Sports Performance in developing and implementing evidence‑based training programs that enhance athletic performance, health, and well‑being. This role focuses on strength, power, speed, agility, and conditioning while collaborating with sports medicine, sports science, and coaching staff to optimize performance and injury prevention. Additionally, the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach plays a key role in athlete rehabilitation, monitoring stress and readiness levels, and supporting NFL Pro Day preparation and recruiting efforts.

Essential Functions Football student‑athlete performance and Strength & Conditioning
  • Assist the director in the development and implementation of training programs to enhance athletic performance based on position group, team, and individual needs
  • Utilize sport science methodologies to enhance training, reduce injury risk, and monitor player readiness
  • Integrate mobility and flexibility drills to improve movement efficiency and durability
  • Implement prehabilitation exercises to address movement deficiencies and reduce injury risk
Support staff collaboration
  • Collaborate with Athletic Medicine professionals to ensure scientifically‑based best practices and principles for proper rehabilitation and return‑to‑play protocols
  • Collaborate with PROS and departmental professionals to create and promote a positive environment that supports developmental strategies for mental and psychological performance
  • Collaborate with Registered Dieticians (RD) and sport staff to identify, educate, and create individualized nutrition plans to promote optimal hydration, performance, and recovery
  • Collaborate with Sport Science professionals and sport‑specific staff to educate, assess, evaluate, and review sport performance programming to promote optimal performance, and recovery
Pre‑game, pre‑practice, and post‑game duties
  • Assist in the design and execution of warm‑up routines before games and practices to enhance readiness and injury prevention
  • Support in‑game conditioning, halftime recovery, and post‑game recovery strategies
Recruiting
  • Assist in evaluating prospective student‑athletes based on performance metrics
  • Support the recruitment process, including campus visits and athlete evaluations
NFL Pro Scouting and Pro Day Support
  • Help prepare student‑athletes for NFL Pro Day testing, drills, and interviews
  • Communicate with NFL scouts alongside the Director regarding athlete performance and potential
Facility & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain the daily upkeep and organization of strength and conditioning facilities
  • Assist in administrative tasks or other duties assigned by the Director of Football Performance
Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College preferably in a health‑related field, and 24 months experience as a college or professional strength coach.

Certifications
  • CPR, First Aid and AED Certification

Working Conditions Detail
