The Oklahoma Water Resources Board is a state agency responsible for overseeing the complex mission of managing, monitoring, planning for, and financing the state's water resources and infrastructure towards reliable future supplies that support strong communities, commerce, and the environment. The agency is seeking a Streams Monitoring Technician Summer Intern to join our family of professionals in delivering exceptional services and expertise to Oklahomans.

Extensive weekly overnight travel is required.
Description of Work DutiesThis position will assist staff with various duties in a field environment in various locations throughout Oklahoma. Duties may be performed in extreme weather conditions.
Typical Job Functions- Assist with wetland restoration activities.
- Assist with post-processing of field water quality samples
- Assist with the setup, calibration, and maintenance of monitoring equipment.
- Data entry and review.
- Assist with data management activities.
- Assist with Division activities as needed.
Education and Experience
Pursuing a bachelor or associate degree in physical, natural, or biological science, chemistry, geology, hydrology, physical geography, epidemiology, environmental science, environmental health, civil, agricultural, environmental, geological, or chemical engineering.
Experience with the operation of boats or other watercraft is a plus. Basic knowledge of computer operations is required. Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, Access and Arc GIS is preferred. Basic knowledge of chemical and biological principles is a plus.
The position provides valuable job experience that will be beneficial in preparing successful applicants for their careers.
Moderate to heavy physical activity, including but not limited to carrying field equipment, operating sample collection equipment, and wading through streams and rivers for prolonged periods.
