- Provide all daily rehabilitative care for wildlife patients in assigned care areas, including feeding and cleaning, treatment, and monitoring patients’ progress.
- Carry out maintenance projects at the facility and other projects assigned by Animal Care Managers.
- Learn and implement patient protocols by species.
- Observe animals’ condition and behavior and report to Animal Care Managers.
- Perform patient admissions and intake exams as needed.
- Carry out assigned releases.
- Assist with animal admissions and patient record entries.
- Learn wildlife conflict resolution techniques to help educate members of the public that call Wild Care for advice and guidance.
- Update Community Liaison regarding patient updates for social media including taking photographs and video.

Required
Education:
Must be currently enrolled in the Spring semester as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
- Must attach Spring 2026 class schedule
- Must have received and accepted a work study award for the Spring 2026 semester

- Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required
Physical Requirements
- Work outside in all seasons and in all kinds of weather conditions
- Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Walk on uneven, natural terrain
- Able to lift 40 lbs.
- Studying biology, life sciences, ecology, veterinary sciences, or related field preferred
- Wildlife rehabilitation or other animal care experience preferred
- Rabies pre-exposure vaccination recommended but not required for work with most species
