Departmental Overview
Our Women’s and Children’s Team is currently looking for a highly motivated individual, ready for a fast‑paced environment who strives to deliver the best experience to our patients. The team works well as part of a supportive and positive team, while being very capable of multi‑tasking and impeccable time management. The team provides comprehensive care on our 28‑bed unit to postpartum women and their newborns (greater than 35 weeks gestation), antepartum, gynecological and pediatric (0‑18 years old) patients.
We focus our efforts on restoring optimal physical, emotional, and mental well‑being in each unique situation with a constant goal of maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our patient population. We closely follow AWHONN staffing standards for safe patient care. Our Maternal Child team, along with our Centers of Excellence at NRHS, has earned Advanced Perinatal Care Certification (ACPC), accredited through the Joint Commission.
NRHS is recognized as a Certified Safe Sleep Hospital at the Gold Level by Cribs for Kids.
- $42/hr flat rate.
- 2 shifts/week.
- Evening differential $2.50/hr.
- Night differential $3.00/hr.
- Weekend differential $3.00/hr.
- Assessment/reassessment – Systematically assesses/reassesses the health care needs of individuals appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions, involving patients, families and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
- Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes – Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patients, families and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
- Implementation and Coordination of Care – Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgment guided by current evidence‑based practice, regulations and policy.
- Evaluation – Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence‑based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
- Determines discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed.
- Maintains professional practice standards.
- Education:
- Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in the healthcare field preferred.
- (Requirements can be met by an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training or retraining required during orientation prior to providing patient care, and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
- New grads must complete Norman Regional’s Nurse Residency Program.
