Compensation / Benefits
- $13.21-$21.58/hr based on previous work experience
- Evening differential $1.50/hr
- Night differential $1.75/hr
- Weekend differential $1.75/hr

Norman Regional Hospital ICU is a 32 bed unit. The ICU cares for a wide variety of critical patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, sepsis, renal failure, induced hypothermia, and prolonged intermittent renal replacement therapy. The ICU team works in collaboration with the dedicated stroke unit to provide award winning advanced stroke care. We maintain a fast pace to meet the needs of those in the most acute phases of cardiac disease.
Common cardiac procedures/diagnosis seen in ICU include post open heart surgery, severe decompensated heart failure, cardiogenic shock, STEMI, aortic dissection, and acute severe valvular dysfunction. The ICU PCT should show respect, empathy, and exhibit strong communication skills with patients, families, and other health care professionals.
- Provides basic patient care.
- Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
- Takes and records vital sign (VS) data and relays to patient's nurse.
- Provides general nursing care and routine treatment /procedures.
- Facilitates processing of patients
- Provides clerical receptionist support
- Provides Coordinating Support
- Performs additional duties related to the specific needs of the department
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent GED.
- Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
Experience
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure/Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment.
