Departmental Overview
Our Surgical unit is a 32 bed unit that takes care of a wide variety of medical surgical patients. Our primary patient surgery population includes neurosurgeries, general abdominal surgeries, and thyroidectomies. We provide training for general medical-surgical, telemetry, and neurosurgery. We work with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals for complete patient care. The Surgical Unit has a great teamwork atmosphere and a wonderful place to work, learn, and grow.
Compensation/Benefits- $18.08-$29.53/hr based on previous background.
- Evening differential $2.00/hr.
- Night differential $2.50/hr.
- Weekend differential $2.50/hr.

- Performs duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
- Contributes to the development of a plan of care and follows through with such plan for selected patients.
- Administers medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy.
- Documents nursing care and activities.
- Assists with patient care and monitors patients during procedures.
- Assists the departmental assistant with clinical matters.
- Maintains the exam/treatment rooms and work environment.
- Assists with the training of other staff.
Education
- Completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse.
Experience
- Prefer previous hospital experience.
- Previous work history reflecting stable employment is necessary.
- If no work experience, will consider school attendance record and performance.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure/Certification.
- Current Oklahoma State LPN License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re‑training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re‑training for the duration of employment.
