The Lindy Waters III Foundation is dedicated to empowering Native American youth and strengthening Indigenous communities through sports, health and wellness, and leadership initiatives. The foundation seeks to create opportunities for personal growth, provide exposure, and ensure access to diverse resources for Native youth. Through its impactful programs, the foundation fosters development and supports young individuals in building a brighter future.

Role Description

This is a 4 to 6-month, part-time contract role, requiring on-site leadership at basketball camps hosted in partnership with tribal communities and organizations. The individual in this position will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of basketball camps, ensuring a safe, organized, and culturally grounded environment for participants. Responsibilities include providing hands‑on coaching and mentorship to youth, supervising staff and volunteers, and building strong relationships with tribal leaders, families, and community partners to expand outreach efforts.

The role requires consistent communication with Foundation leadership, logistical coordination, and active representation of the Foundation’s mission both on and off the court.

Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with parents, youth, and community stakeholders.
  • Experience in youth development, mentoring, and coaching basketball or working with children in similar environments.
  • Customer service experience and the ability to ensure a high standard of participant satisfaction and safety.
  • Passion for making an impact in Indigenous communities, with an emphasis on empowering Native youth.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to oversee staff and manage multiple programs or events simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of cultural sensitivities regarding Native American and Indigenous communities is preferred.
