Job Description:

The College of Professional and Continuing Studies seeks a Senior Program Coordinator to lead and manage its Energy Education Programs. This position serves as the primary operational and strategic driver for four long-standing, nationally recognized programs with more than 70 years of history at the University:
Laurance Reid Gas Conditioning Conference, Gas Compressor Short Course, Corrosion Control Course, and Blowout Prevention School.

The Senior Program Coordinator is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of these niche, industry-facing programs. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, collaborative professional with demonstrated experience managing complex programs, overseeing budgets, supervising staff, and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong relationships with industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Leadership & Operations:
    Responsible for daily program operations, including staff supervision, program evaluations, and development of long-range operational plans to ensure program sustainability and growth.
  • Strategic Planning & Growth Initiatives:
    Establish and implement program growth initiatives, including identifying new opportunities, expanding participant engagement, and strengthening industry relevance.
  • Marketing & Communications:
    Develop and execute marketing strategies, including website content, email campaigns, social media engagement, and other promotional initiatives to increase program visibility and enrollment.
  • Event & Conference Management:
    Plan and coordinate program events and conferences; negotiate and administer contracts; manage all logistical aspects of in-person programs, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement:
    Oversee project management efforts, cultivate and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, advisory boards, and partners, and secure sponsor ships and funding to support program growth and accessibility.
  • Participant Support & Industry

    Collaboration:

    Oversee administrative activities for assigned programs, including participant support and advising, and collaborate with industry advisory boards and organizations to identify emerging trends and develop innovative program offerings.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    Collect and analyze program data, monitor program effectiveness, and prepare regular performance reports with recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Budget & Financial Management:
    Develop and administer budgets for assigned programs and projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient allocation of resources.
  • Policies, Procedures & Compliance:
    Develop and implement policies, procedures, and business practices; ensure compliance with university policies and applicable program regulations.
  • Additional Duties:
    Perform related duties as assigned or required to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

  • Successful delivery of all four programs on schedule and within budget.
  • Demonstrated annual growth in participant enrollment and/or sponsorship revenue.
  • Positive participant evaluations and industry feedback.
  • Strengthened relationships with advisory boards and industry partners.
  • Increased effectiveness of marketing and outreach efforts.
Job Requirements:
  • Required

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree, and 48 months of related experience.
  • Equivalent/Substitution: 96 months of related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write clear, concise English.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
