J.D. McCarty Center is seeking Direct Care Specialists to join our team in Norman, OK. The role involves providing nursing, therapeutic, recreational, and personal care for pediatric patients with disabilities and developmental challenges, from birth to 21 years old. The position is for the Evening Shift (2:45 pm - 10:45 pm).
Salary: $20.00 per hour.
The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, punctual, and enjoys helping children. They must be reliable and empathetic, with the ability to work effectively with pediatric patients.
Responsibilities:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred experience in hospital, recreational, or therapeutic settings
- Background in medical, recreational, or therapeutic fields
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 30 pounds
- Valid driver’s license
- One-year probationary period
- References required
- Scheduled one day of paid on-call per week
