The Department of Health and Exercise Science at the University of Oklahoma invites applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track or tenured position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Exercise Physiology. Applicants should have a research focus in Cellular/Molecular Exercise Physiology with an emphasis on metabolic dysfunction and associated co‑morbidities such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and pulmonary disease. The appointment will begin in Fall 2026.

The Department of Health and Exercise Science is a growing interdisciplinary program and one of the largest in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences with more than 1100 undergraduate students, more than 50 graduate students, and 17 faculty. It is nationally ranked by the National Academy of Kinesiology. The program focuses on Exercise Physiology and Health Promotion and integrates the biological, physiological, medical, and behavioral sciences as they relate to physiological responses to exercise and other aspects of human health.
Relevant to this position the department offers a B.S. degree in Health and Exercise Science, a M.S. degree in Exercise Physiology, Health Promotion, and Sports Data Analytics, and Ph.D. degrees in Exercise Physiology, Health Promotion, and Cellular and Behavioral Neuroscience.
