Job Description

Traditions Square Community Assistants The Traditions Square Apartments Community Assistant (CA) is a student staff member who supports the day‑to‑day operations of the Traditions Square Apartments and serves as a resource for residents. CAs play an essential role in creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming living environment for apartment residents. CAs typically work 12‑20 hours per week, with shifts scheduled between 9 a.m. – 1 a.m., and report to the Residence Life staff assigned to Traditions Square.

Responsibilities
  • Staff the front desk and provide customer service to residents and guests
  • Serve as a resource to residents seeking assistance or information about campus and community resources
  • Conduct regular rounds of the apartment complex to promote safety, address concerns, and report maintenance or facility issues
  • Promote and uphold Residence Life policies and community expectations
  • Issue spare keys and maintain accurate key audits and logs
  • Maintain filing systems, occupancy records, and other administrative documentation
  • Assist with resident check‑in, check‑out, and room change processes
  • Monitor and report roommate conflicts, major maintenance needs, and other incidents to appropriate staff
  • Facilitate community engagement by supporting or leading resident programs and events
  • Track and manage community resources
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling student concerns or information
  • Support special projects and complete other duties as assigned

Required

Education:

Must be currently enrolled in the Spring term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

Skills
  • Must have basic math skills and ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

  • Frequent and repetitive arm and wrist movement
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 25 lbs., depending on job assignment
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, climb stairs, as necessary, and depending on job assignment, occasionally to frequently. This will be determined by employee's assignment.
