Bed Maintenance Crew Leader

General Requirements

• Must be able to work in various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Capable of lifting up to 80 lbs and performing physically demanding tasks.
• Able to stand for extended periods and walk throughout the day.
• Required to be available during the off-season for snow operations as needed.
• Must adhere to all company safety standards, operational procedures, and policy guidelines.
• Specific job responsibilities are included as guidelines and can be expanded to include other duties as needed at the discretion of Green View managers at any time.

• Perform pre-operation inspections on hand tools, backpack sprayers, small power tools, mechanical edgers, and bed redefiners to ensure safe operation.
• Direct and oversee weeding of landscape beds using manual removal, selective herbicide applications, and mechanical cultivation.
• Supervise mulch application, ensuring even coverage, proper depth, and integration with surrounding landscape elements.
• Oversee removal of litter, debris, and dead plant material from beds while implementing preventative maintenance practices.
• Maintain precise bed edges using manual tools, power edgers, and bed redefiners to ensure consistent site aesthetics.
• Apply and oversee pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide treatments, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and application best practices.
• Diagnose and manage common weed, pest, and disease issues, developing treatment plans as needed.
• Plan and adjust bed maintenance workflows to optimize labor and materials while maintaining high-quality results.
• Train and mentor crew leaders and crew members on advanced bed maintenance techniques and efficiency strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including herbicide handling, PPE usage, and equipment safety procedures.
