Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) position requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of one year of nursing experience, working nights in a fast-paced inpatient hospital setting.
Responsibilities- Float pool position covering multiple inpatient units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab
- Patient population includes acute and chronically ill patients with diagnoses such as coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, dysrhythmia, congestive heart failure, stroke, cancer, cellulitis, post-surgical care, and chest pain
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Epic EMR used; prior Epic experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- RTO is not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within this health system
- Responsibilities include floating to various inpatient units, completing patient assessments, developing and modifying care plans, administering medications, performing IV venipuncture and blood administration, providing post-operative care, and discharging patients with education
- Delegates patient care tasks to assigned HCTs and validates completion throughout the shift
- Participates in team huddles, conducts bedside shift reports, performs hourly rounding, and maintains patient communication boards
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient care
- Active IL RN license required; temporary license accepted
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Proficiency in IV venipuncture, blood administration, medication administration, and post-operative care
- Ability to float to and manage diverse patient populations across multiple inpatient units
- English proficiency required (speak, read, write)
